Chief Patrick Ogden
Welcome to the Delaware Association of Chiefs of Police. Our membership includes police chiefs and executives from all areas of law enforcement in the State of Delaware and from Federal agencies. Our organization is committed to providing the citizens of Delaware with outstanding law enforcement services. We recognize we must work together and share resources to accomplish our goals.
The Delaware Association of Chiefs of Police is active in keeping up with law enforcement issues and trends on the State, Regional and Federal levels. By working together we have been able to have an impact on public safety and the safety of our law enforcement personnel in Delaware. The Association has been, and will continue to be, active in legislative issues and policy issues that affect the way we deliver our services.
Once a year we provide an opportunity to all of our membership to participate in an Executive Development Seminar. This seminar brings outstanding instructors to Delaware from all over the Country and provides our members with high quality training.
I encourage all of our members to be active within the Delaware Association of Chiefs of Police . I believe that together we can continue to improve as law enforcement administrators and have a positive impact on the law enforcement services provided to the residents and visitors of the State a Delaware.
I hope you find our site valuable and useful for your needs.
Delaware Association of Chiefs of Police Reform Commitments
The Delaware Police Chief’s Council (DPCC) was established in 1971 and is comprised of every police chief in the state of Delaware, as well as the Superintendent of the Delaware State Police. The Council is the recognized State Association of Chiefs of Police (SACOP) representative for the state of Delaware to the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
As an organization, we strive to achieve excellence in providing public safety services to the citizens of Delaware.
We support collaborative police reform initiatives and look at them as an opportunity for improvement, not as an obstacle or inconvenience. Every chief in our state is committed to drafting model policies, accountability, transparency, community outreach, training, and partnership with the Police Reform Task Force, to build trust with the citizens we are sworn to serve.
The Council officially underwent a name change to Delaware Association of Chiefs of Police (DAPC) in January 2022.
